Gazelli Art House announces the opening of its New York gallery with Put the Kettle On, an inaugural group exhibition opening on 22 September 2026.

Bringing together works by Agil Abdullayev, Memo Akten, Derek Boshier, Pauline Boty, Harold Cohen, Brendan Dawes, Jake Elwes, Lilly Fenichel, Jann Haworth, Kalliopi Lemos and Recycle Group, the exhibition explores unexpected connections between historical and contemporary approaches to image-making, perception and visual culture.

Spanning more than six decades of artistic practice, Put the Kettle On brings together artists who have challenged established ideas of representation across painting, sculpture, installation and digital media. From Harold Cohen’s early experiments with computer-generated imagery and the rule-based systems behind AARON to Pauline Boty, Derek Boshier and Jann Haworth’s engagement with mass media and popular visual culture, the exhibition traces different ways artists have responded to a rapidly changing image environment.

Contemporary perspectives are represented by Memo Akten, Brendan Dawes, Jake Elwes and Recycle Group, whose practices engage with artificial intelligence, algorithms and digital networks, questioning how technology shapes perception, authorship and the production of images. Agil Abdullayev and Kalliopi Lemos explore themes of memory, identity and displacement through painting and sculpture, while Lilly Fenichel’s gestural abstractions extend the visual language of post-war American painting.

For Recycle Group, the exhibition brings their practice into dialogue with artists who have explored the relationship between technology, systems and visual representation across different generations. Their work considers how digital networks, algorithms and data have become part of the structures through which contemporary reality is perceived, extending questions of image-making beyond the screen and into the systems that shape everyday experience.

Put the Kettle On opens during Armory Week in New York, presenting a cross-generational dialogue between analogue and computational practices, abstraction and figuration, and established forms of artistic production and emerging technologies.
