Recycle Group will present their work ‘Piéta’ (2023) in the group exhibition ‘Circonvolutions’ at Manifesta, opening September 11th and running through October 29th, 2025. Organized in collaboration with Suzanne Tarasieve Gallery, the show brings together artists whose practices explore the curves, turns, and tensions that define our relationship to the body, matter, and space.
In Piéta, Recycle Group revisits one of art history’s most iconic motifs. Rendered in sculpted mesh, the Mother figure embraces not Christ but a human in virtual reality glasses—a contemporary allegory where mourning becomes a metaphor for transition, the passage between worlds, and the inevitability of change as life’s only constant.
