Recycle Group explores the impact of new technologies on our daily lives, particularly focusing on the concept of digital religion. They question the boundaries of our beliefs and the influence of digital technologies on our spiritual and philosophical values. For them, the digital world mirrors the spiritual realm: immaterial, governed by its own ethics, morals, and rules, and offering a promise of immortality for humanity. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, immortality becomes a more tangible possibility, as data storage and transfer to AI could preserve a user’s “thoughts.” In their work Alglise, the classic vaults of a church are inverted, emphasizing humanity—the user of this world—rather than the infinite heavens. Using the “Zero Form,” they symbolize humanity’s eternal digital life, exploring how this paradigm shift reshapes our collective identity.
